2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 50th Anniversary Edition – WGP 50th Anniversary R1 celebrate extraordinary Yamaha Grand Prix legacy. To celebrate half a century of success in Grand Prix racing, Yamaha will produce a limited number of motorcycles ‘Anniversary WGP 50′ exclusive and scooters. Based on the classic color schemes on the YZR-M1 debut by Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies in 2011, this uniform is very special timeless design is inspired by the famous red and white ‘speedblock’ feature on pioneering Yamaha Grand Prix racing machine.

The 2011 AMA Superbike Championship win R1 with the cross plane crankshaft and uneven firing order has taken an evolutionary step forward for 2012 with the addition of traction control and revised ECU settings. This change makes it easier for inexperienced riders to bring out the full performance of the new edition 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 50th Anniversary of the characters while enjoying a unique and revolutionary cross plane engine noise.
